About the designer…

Hi, my name is Ruthie Smith and I’m the designer, creator, and owner of Teal Dragonfly Creations. I reside in beautiful Montana with my husband, two children, mom, and several fur babies. I opened a local yarn shop in 2021 and when I’m not crocheting and teaching classes I can be found sewing with my mom, participating in church activities, quilting, reading, and hiking.

I’ve been crocheting since the age of 6, when I was taught by my grandma. My passion for crochet has only grown throughout the years and then in 2019 I began writing down my patterns to share with the world; but I have been designing them for years. My favorite patterns to create are dragonfly inspired as the dragonfly is elegant, graceful, enchanting, and a sign of change, transformation, and adaptability.

About the design…

This bag design was inspired by my love for the Griddle Stitch texture and seeing Kathy’s amazing idea for her pockets. I knew I had to design something that could use the pockets and be useful for myself, my customers, my crocheting friends, and my non-crocheting friends. The functionality of this pattern makes it perfect for everyone.

You can use it as a project bag, diaper bag, purse, gift wrapping bag with a bonus use, a shopping bag, and so much more. The base of the Dancing Grace Tote really helps this bag stand out from others because of the “knit” look; which is actually designed for strength. The amazing texture and sturdy handle also make this pattern stand apart from others.
