Who said giving gift cards had to be boring? I don’t know about you, but I always feel weird just giving a gift card. I always feel the need to do something else with it.
Enter in the Heart Pouch Pattern! Not only is this pattern so easy to whip up (no sewing except for the button), but it will bring a smile to whoever you are gifting it to. And if you are giving it to a pizza lover, this mod is for you!
I thought a pencil modification would be so adorable! Great for teachers’ gifts and even class favors. These would also work well with the Teacher Themed Patches in my Etsy Shop.
Materials:
- H 5mm hook
- Cotton or Acrylic Yarn in Black, Beige, Yellow, Grey and Black. I used I Love This Cotton from Hobby Lobby.
- Heart Pouch Pattern found in my Etsy
- ¾” – 1” buttons.
Make the heart pouch as directed in the pattern with the following color changes. You can cut the yarn after each color change except for the grey, wait until you complete all the Rounds.
Rounds 1-2: Black
Rounds 3-4: Beige
Rounds 5-9: Yellow
Rounds 10-11: Grey (DO NOT fasten off!***)
Remaining Rounds: Pink
***When doing the Slip Stitches at the end, switch back to grey after the 2 bumps.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
And one of my favorite parts about this pattern is the seamless look! It works up in one piece and the only sewing required is for the button.
These pouches are the perfect size to hold a 2×2” patch on the back side. The ones shown are available in 16 colors in my Etsy shop. They are available individually or in a kit with all three styles and three pairs of buttons.
